Ngày 22/04 hàng năm được chọn là Ngày trái đất; năm nay là lần thứ 42 nó được diễn ra và đã được 175 quốc gia hưởng ứng. Mục đích của Ngày trái đất là nâng cao nhận thức và giá trị của môi trường tự nhiên của hành tinh mà chúng ta đã sinh sống. Ngày 22/04/1970, ông Gaylord Nelson, một thượng nghị sĩ Mỹ đã kêu gọi tổ chức một cuộc hội thảo về môi trường, hay là Ngày trái đất, có hơn 20 triệu người đã tham gia vào năm đó. Bộ sưu tập ảnh sau đây sẽ là những hình ảnh về môi trường của hành tinh xanh, những nỗ lực tạo ra nguồn năng lượng tái chế, và các tác động khác nhau của ô nhiễm.
